    Milford School District seeks a visionary leader to serve as the Principal of Milford Central Academy. Milford Central Academy serves approximately 1,100 students in grades 6-8. Situated adjacent to Milford High School, Milford Central Academy is part of a large campus for all secondary students within the Milford School District. Milford Central Academy and Milford School District are highly committed to best serving students, families, educators, and the entire school-community.
    Qualifications:
    • Successful experience as an assistant principal or principal strongly preferred.
    • Hold or be eligible for Delaware School Principal certification in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1591.
    • Minimum of five (5) years successful experience as a teacher preferred.
    • Proven commitment to the improvement of student achievement.
    • Demonstrated skills and achievement as an instructional leader.
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Work collaboratively, professionally, and productively within school and district leadership teams to lead educational and support programming to best serve students, families and the school-community.
    • Establish a vision for learning that will be embraced by staff, families, and the community in promoting student achievement and success.
    • Possess a keen awareness of the diverse instructional and support needs of the middle level learner (grades 6-8).
    • Demonstrate cultural competence and commitment to equity. Support the use of equitable practices among all aspects of the school and work to ensure that students have equitable access to all school activities.
    • Foster and maintain positive professional relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.
    • Engage in the promotion of Restorative Practices throughout the school and work to support understanding and use of these practices.
    • Provide leadership for major initiatives and change efforts relative to school improvement goals.
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with students, families, staff, administrators, and the Milford community.
    • Be actively visible within the school during the school day, at school events and within the community.
    • Provide leadership for continuous improvement of the school culture and ensure that students have a safe and orderly educational learning environment.
    • Ensure the articulation of the Milford Central Academy with all aspects of Milford School District’s total educational program (Pre-K through grade 12).
    • Work collaboratively with the adjacent Milford High School administration and staff to provide a safe and organized school campus for student learning.
    • Provide an unwavering focus on key educational practices, academic performance data, and other indicators associated with secondary and postsecondary student outcomes.
    • Manage fiscal and physical resources responsibly, efficiently, and effectively.
    • Implement educational best practices and follow regulations relative to a diverse group of student learners.
    • Hire, observe, coach, and evaluate staff for continuous improvement.
    • Adhere to Board policy, regulations and respond to Superintendent requests in a timely and accurate manner.
    Terms of Employment: Twelve-month employee
    Salary and Benefits: Salary range and benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience in accordance with Board of Education Policy.
    Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
