General Purpose of the Job
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-Related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HRD in supporting all geographic regions of the company in a support and administrative function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports California stores by providing guidance on various policies, compliance and employment law.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with I9’s, onboarding, ATS System and HRIS file audits.
- LOA and FMLA administration.
- Completes all corporate new hires and orientation.
- Updating of company organizational charts.
- Supports field by providing guidance on various policies and employment law.
- Train and educate employees and supervisors on company policies and protocols.
- Responds to employee queries regarding HR policies, benefits, and general HR-related inquiries.
- Administer all unemployment cases.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field.
- Knowledge of California HR law required.
- 3-4 years of HR experience, preferably in a restaurant environment.
- In depth knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations.
- Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
Requirements and Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate in English and Spanish.
- This position may require occasional weekend availability.
- Demonstrates commitment to providing customer-focused, quality service to employees.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet various deadlines.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
