Position Description: This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Engineering Manager/Supervisor to support Engineering Services for Navigation Systems. The candidate will serve in a multi-disciplinary role supporting Systems Engineering, Advanced Concepts, System Design and Documentation, Software Engineering, Life Cycle Engineering, and Program Support. The candidate will lead a team of 5-10 engineers performing these functions for US Navy Navigational Systems (e.g., WSN-7, WSN-12, WSN-9, BSN-2, WSN-8, ECDIS-N, etc.). MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE Responsibilities and Duties: * Assist in developing systems engineering schedules, milestone briefings, and presentations, including required funds and man-hours expenditures. * Provide recommended Systems Engineering Processes development and implementation support across all Navigation Systems Product Lines and Technical Reviews. * Develop current and future hardware and software engineering and integration requirements. * Lead requirement development and definition and test and evaluation planning. * Develop Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for new technology insertion and development of technical potential new requirements and concept feasibility. * Provide support and coordination for risk management in accordance with the Risk Management Program and Plans. Required Qualifications and Skills: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or related technical discipline * Fifteen (15) years of experience in Systems, Electronics, Hardware, and/or Software Engineering * Specific technical knowledge and/or experience with US Navy Navigational Systems (e.g., WSN-7, WSN-12, WSN-9, BSN-2, WSN-8, ECDIS-N, etc.). * Strong communication, analytical and organizational skills; strong knowledge of desktop tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) * Ability to lead a team directing and monitoring work results for meeting customer requirements, specifications, quality, cost control, and program schedules. Desired Qualifications and Skills: * DoD/Navy industry or government technical management knowledge and background in engineering and project/program management * Eligibility to achieve interim TS Security Clearance in a timely manner * Leading or advising engineering teams related to developing system models; performing evaluations of systems to advise and predict performance; evaluating computer-based modeling and simulation technologies to improve systems. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: * Telework eligible with the requirement of being able to work on-site at Washington Navy Yard at least 2 days/week * Potential travel up to 25% to Norfolk, VA, San Diego, CA, Fallon, NV, Hawaii, Guam, Japan, and other Navy concentration areas.
