Position Summary: The DCCC is hiring a Training Coordinator for the 2024 election cycle. The person will be responsible for assisting the Training Director with an effective functioning of training. The Training Coordinator will develop training materials, working closely with the Organizing Department and other DCCC subject matter experts to deliver trainings in-person and virtual. Ideal candidates for this position will possess interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different types of stakeholders and staff.
This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Assisting the Training Director in building staff and volunteer training curriculums and training materials.
  • Assisting the Training Director in designing and leading in-person and virtual trainings.
  • Travel to districts to conduct trainings and provide coaching and support.
  • Manages collaboration with the Organizing Department Leadership and other departments to ensure training content is relevant for staff and volunteers.
  • Manages the library of staff and volunteer training materials and resources.
  • Facilitates the coordination of the logistics of in-person and virtual training, including prepping presenters, reviewing materials, and working with the operations team on drafting training budgets and coordinating all necessary accommodations.
  • Maintain systems and structures to gather feedback as well as measure training effectiveness and staff skill growth over time.
  • Foster an inclusive team culture.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • 1 cycle of organizing experience, OR 1 year of experience in training and development. Candidates who have a combination of these skills and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience developing and running in-person or virtual trainings for staff and/or volunteers.
  • Experience developing and facilitating culturally competent curriculum to a diverse set of audiences.
  • Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Goal-oriented and self-disciplined; able to meet tight deadlines and multitask.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and presentation skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Draws from team members' strengths, empowering them to maximize their talents; contributes where needed to achieve and exceed goals; mentors and guides colleagues with regular feedback and recognition; clearly lays out vision and expectations to the team
