Job Summary
Member of the Accounting team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of company payroll, provide timely and accurate payroll information, various financial reporting and analysis, and other miscellaneous accounting duties.
Responsibilities:
Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll for approximately 400 employees. From timecard reconciliation through payment (to employees, state agencies, 401k facilitators, etc.), & recording to the general ledger.
Input / Maintain / Reconcile employee data within the HRIS system.
Process accurate and timely year-end reporting.
Tracking and maintenance of accrual accounts.
Preparation and analysis of balance sheet account reconcilements related to payroll and other accounts to ensure accurate re-coding within the general ledger and correcting inconsistencies as necessary.
Preparation and analysis of financial data to support management decisions.
Provide support for auditors.
Skills/Qualifications:
Detail oriented with strong analytical and technical skills
A high degree of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information is a must
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
High Proficiency with MS Office products
Experience/Education:
2 years of Payroll experience with a solid knowledge of payroll best practices and Federal/State regulations
Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. GAAP
Experience with an HRIS system
Ultimate Software (UKG) and or ERP systems are a plus
