Job Summary

The HR Coordinator's main job function will be to oversee and administer leave requests and accommodations requiring specialized attention, particularly arising under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and state and local leave laws.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Communicates with employees and/or the employee's management team, regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
• Partners with Darling's third party leave administrator to handle the FMLA leave process from the employee's initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work.
• Receives and tracks benefit payments from employees out on FMLA leave. Cancel/reinstate employee benefits as necessary.
• Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
• Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers' compensation, or other leave(s).
• Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
• Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
• Maintains employee personnel filing system.
• Assist in tasks for other HR functions when necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field.
• 1 or more years of experience in HR function including leave of absences and benefits.

Preferred Experience

• Work well with others in a team environment.
• Highly organized; superior time management skills.
• Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs.
• Regularly required reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment Job functions will be carried out in an office environment.
