Daniel J Edelman Holdings is Hiring an Edelman Global Advisory Internship Near New York, NY

Edelman Global Advisory (EGA) is a boutique international advisory firm within the Edelman network that owns the firm’s government affairs and business advisory services. We have rebranded public affairs to advisory to better capture the evolution and future of this sector. Advisory services combine business strategy, government affairs, corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and political risk analysis to help clients navigate changing political and economic dynamics. Our mission is to build trust in today’s evolving geopolitical environment.

Joining the EGA team will provide team members with the opportunity to be involved in the building of this growing firm—from creating a new culture, to redefining public affairs services, to exploring new services, such as data analytics and political risk analysis—across the regions where we operate: APAC, MENA, Europe, North America, Latin America, and India. We view ourselves as a start-up built on top of one of the world’s most recognizable brands.

EGA’s dedicated teams represent firms across all sectors in navigating key markets’ political and regulatory environments to achieve business goals and help client firms enter and grow in these markets. As an intern on a sector-specific team, you will have a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute to impactful projects while immersing yourself in the dynamic world of communications and public affairs.

We offer internships in the following practices within EGA:

International Public Affairs

The EGA International Public Affairs team represents a wide range of global clients in navigating the public affairs environment and offers specialized support to assist clients in meeting their target goals. As an intern on the IPA team, you will have a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and insight into advocacy, stakeholder, and media communications while immersing yourself in the dynamic world of international relations. As an intern, you will be responsible for supporting the IPA workstream as well as client deliverables as needed. This can include research on specific issue areas or business sectors, monitoring news articles for EGA clients and priority regions, research and preparation of briefing documents, as well as the development of media pitches and outreach strategies.

Climate & Sustainability

EGA’s Climate Policy team specializes in delivering tailored advisory services on policy and regulatory developments across the climate sector. We help businesses navigate the complex and evolving landscape of climate, biodiversity, sustainability, clean energy policies and regulations at the local, regional, national, and international levels. As an intern you will have the opportunity to track, monitor, and analyze developments across the climate policy sector, while contributing to new business and existing client relations.

Digital Integrated Campaigns

The EGA Digital Integrated Campaigns team represents a wide range of global clients in navigating the public affairs environment and offers specialized support to strategically integrate digital channels into wider campaign and policy goals. As an intern, you will have a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience and insight into advocacy, stakeholder and digital communications, while developing contributing to client deliverables in-line with the latest industry trends and innovations.

EGA New York Team

The New York EGA team specializes in helping multinational companies create and implement their global public affairs strategies, often through key international bodies in the United Nations system.

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to learn about the full suite of public affairs support, from how to advise on client positioning to concrete engagement strategies and tactics, through the support of two global trade associations in the food and beverage sector: monitoring policy developments at the global level and analyzing their impact for clients, attending and reporting on UN events, tracking social media conversations on key policy topics, and working closely with the EGA team on the management of ongoing public affairs campaigns.

Responsibilities:

- This internship is full-time, 20 - 30 hours/week (with a minimum of 14 consecutive weeks). The internship starts June 10th.

- Attend conferences, seminars, workshops, and other events virtually and in-person related to sector-specific economic, political, and trade matters, and provide concise reports on key insights and takeaways.

- Assist in preparing issue memos, briefs, and analysis documents to update clients and internal teams on relevant developments in the sector or market-specific landscape the team is focused on.

- Monitor news sources daily to identify pertinent news related to sector specific developments or economic, trade, geopolitical, and regulatory developments.

- Track and report on relevant congressional legislation related to the sector or industry developments and summarize for the team.

- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on economic, trade, geopolitical, and regulatory issues that relate to business and client needs.

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled undergraduate student, recent graduate, or graduate school student with a focus in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, or a related program.

- Demonstrated interest in global affairs or in one of our priority sectors: tech, agriculture, sustainability, financial services, and market entry/exit.

- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

- Able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accuracy and reliability.

- Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work within a team.

- Experience with media outreach and engagement is preferred but not required.
