POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and Construction is responsible for coordinating and supervising activities pertaining to the maintenance and operation of the campus’s equipment, utilities, and structures. Evaluates ongoing maintenance activities to ensure that satisfactory results are maintained in key areas such as; quality, thoroughness, and timely completion of work with any deviation from such reported to the Director of Facilities and Construction. Demonstrates competency of maintenance methods, techniques, procedures, principles of engineering, and applicable government codes and regulations. Maintains operational integrity of the department’s tools and equipment while ensuring that an appropriate level of replacement parts and inventory is maintained. Participates in activities set forth to maintain regulatory compliance in fire and life safety. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations. Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator. This is not a union position
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma and two year trade school required. Undergraduate degree preferred.
Experience: At least 5 years experience in a healthcare organization’s maintenance department maintaining such systems as; boilers, chillers, and emergency power generators. Ability to read and completely understand blueprints, cad drawings in addition to recommended changes for improvements. Management or supervisory experience preferred.
