Salary Range: $72.3K - $90K
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Business Manager to drive and expand our company's commercial activities. As the Commercial Business Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and managing the day-to-day business needs, including staffing, budgeting, and operational efficiency. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a focus on achieving growth and operational excellence. This is an on-call position.
What would my Essential Duties be?
  • Mission & Culture: Uphold the company's mission and values and conduct oneself with the highest level of professionalism.
  • Ensure Optimal Performance: Ensure each commercial account or business performs at the highest level while maintaining profit margins and supporting the company's mission.
  • Day-to-Day Business Management: Manage the day-to-day business needs, including staffing, budgeting, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
  • Supervision and Management: Oversee onsite managers and supervisors (if any) of each commercial activity, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless transitions and successful operations.
  • Daily Management of New Lines of Business: Manage the day-to-day operations of new lines of business, ensuring efficient implementation, coordination, and execution.
  • Budget Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain budgets for each commercial activity, ensuring financial objectives are met and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Strategic Commercial Planning: Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and objectives, aiming to accelerate growth and achieve the mission.
  • Market Research and Business Planning: Conduct market research and analysis to identify detailed business plans for commercial opportunities, such as expansion and business development.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Understand the requirements of existing customers to ensure their needs are met, acquire new customers, and manage client relationships.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with and coordinate diverse teams, including marketing, sales, and customer service, to ensure the seamless execution of commercial strategies.
  • Partnership Building: Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders, with a focus on partnerships with women, minority, and veteran-owned businesses and enterprises.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor the performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Financial Target Setting: Assist in setting financial targets, contribute to budget development, and monitor financial performance.
  • Compliance and Regulations: Ensure all necessary licenses, permits, audits, and regulations are followed and in place for each commercial entity.
What Qualifications and Educational Requirements do I need?
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA) or a relevant field preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in commercial operations, sales, marketing, or business management.
  • Strong project and program management background.

  • Leadership and Management Skills: Exceptional leadership abilities to effectively manage teams and drive results.
  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial management, budgeting, and reporting processes.
  • Market Research and Analysis: In-depth knowledge and experience in conducting market research, analyzing market trends, and identifying commercial opportunities.
  • Strategic Thinking: A strategic mindset with the ability to develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Commercial Awareness: A keen understanding of the industry, market dynamics, and competitors.
  • Organizational and Analytical Skills: Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple commercial activities simultaneously and strong analytical skills to evaluate performance metrics.
  • Adaptability and Resilience: The ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and overcome challenges effectively.
