Custom Computer Specialists is Hiring a Level 1 Desktop Support Technician (FT) Near Bronx, NY
Custom Computer Specialists is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Level 1 Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on technical assistance to all staff and administrators. The successful candidate will be responsible for resolving hardware and software issues, troubleshooting network access problems, and ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient ticket management and follow-up. This position is onsite Monday thru Friday from 8am to 5pm.
The annual compensation for this role ranges from $40,000 - $43,000, based on experience and skillset. As this position involves work at the offices of an organization which requires all staff members to be vaccinated & boosted against COVID-19, you will need to provide proof of vaccination prior to employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide hands-on technical support to all staff and administrators, addressing their hardware and software issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitor and manage the ticketing queue, ensuring prompt follow-up on calls and providing regular updates to end-users.
- Conduct in-person support sessions to troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Follow up on closed tickets to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with the network migration process by resolving issues and providing necessary guidance to end-users.
- Troubleshoot and repair network access problems, including wireless connectivity issues.
- Confirm printer access and resolve any related issues to ensure smooth printing functionality.
- Verify and troubleshoot shared storage access, assisting users with file sharing and collaboration.
- Confirm and troubleshoot application access, ensuring users can effectively utilize standard supported applications.
- Provide resolution and assistance to issues related to standard supported applications, including MS Office 365, browser programs, antivirus software, and other supported proprietary applications and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A certification
- 1-2 years’ experience in hardware and software support
- Dell / Lenovo certifications
- Industry recognized Help Desk Certification and/or help desk environment experience A PLUS
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems: Windows 7 & 10
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software problems
