Installation Technicians take day-to-day direction from their Project Manager. Install access control, video surveillance, and intrusion alarm systems. Apply electrical and electronic theory and related job knowledge to install, test, repair, and modify electronic equipment. Conduct day-to-day interactions with customers and coworkers in a manner that exemplifies and supports the Core Values of Custom Alarm.
Note: The starting wage within the specified range is determined based on a number of considerations including; education, certifications, related experience, etc.
Essential Functions
1. Install Intrusion, Access Control, and Video Surveillance systems to meet applicable standards and codes. Test and inspect systems upon completion of installation to assure quality and proper operation. Provide system information and training to the customer.
2. Utilize PC and networking skills during the installation of video surveillance systems, NVR’s, and access control systems.
3. Assist customers with technical information regarding the operation of systems.
4. Promote upgrades, system additions and enhancements to our customers to keep them aware of the latest technology.
5. Complete documentation and diagrams for installations and service calls, clearly outlining any changes or special instructions (update prints). Submit accurate paperwork and update timecard immediately upon completion of installations and services calls to allow administrative and quality assurance follow-up.
6. Assure proper maintenance and accountability for assigned tools and inventory. If a company vehicle is provided it is the responsibility of the employee to keep the vehicle clean and well maintained.
7. Share in rotating "on-call" schedule (approx. 1 week/quarter) to perform after hour's service.
8. Observe and comply with safety regulations and maintenance procedures. Recommend improvements to management.
9. Attend job related training opportunities to continually refresh and update knowledge.
10. Assure required certificates and licenses are kept current.
11. Be available to assist in all areas of service and installation as needed.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Most of the time is spent standing and walking. Extensive sitting may be necessary when traveling to and from jobs. Movements such as stooping, kneeling, and crawling are required. Climbing ladders and stairs are key elements to this position. Heights range from zero to 25 feet on a regular basis. On occasion, installations require working at heights up to 50 feet. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects such as ladders, spools of wire, and boxes are necessary. Weights generally do not exceed 50 pounds but may range from 50 to 100 pounds on occasion. Reaching overhead is a vital aspect to performing this position, with reaching in front of the body occasionally necessary. Simultaneous and repetitive movements of hands, wrists, and fingers are required. Audio, visual, and verbal functions are vital aspects of performing this job. Excellent color vision is necessary to identify wiring color codes. Driving a company vehicle is required daily. Driving and operating other machinery and tools such as, a genie lift, motorized lift, drills, power saws, meters, etc., is necessary.
