We are currently looking for a Project Accountant based in New York City. The Project is a Multi Property (4MM SF) Design and Construction Project for a major financial services client. This is a great opportunity to join our team! As a part of our project team, you will assist them with all accounting needs regarding several projects at one given time. 

Responsibilities

• Take over the Excel file we have been using to track financial aspects of every consultant’s engagement. This requires at least intermediate Excel skills. Advanced skills would be great to utilize graphs and charts.
• Solid understanding of the budget, commitments, payables, forecast, variance analysis.
• Be able to review AIA forms from contractor.
• Validate invoices against executed agreements.
• Resolve any issues with consultants regarding outstanding invoices.
• Prepare accruals and answer any questions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or commensurate experience.
• 2-5 years' of experience as a Project Accountant within the construction industry is required.
• Sound understanding of general accounting principals.
• Strong communication skills are required.
• Excellent analytical skills and demonstrated success at building team relationships and partnerships across organizational lines.
