Job Description:

SUMMARY

The Human Resources Associate reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. Additional responsibilities include coordinating employee engagement and recognition activities and the employee evaluation process.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule and perform onboard process for new employees.
  • Schedule interviews in collaboration with HR Department and hiring department.
  • Monitor and track employee evaluation process.
  • Process employee changes received such as new hire, job change, and rate increases.
  • Manage documentation of departmental processes and polices as provide by the Human Resources department and Director.
  • Assist in coordinative activities for annual open enrollment.
  • Assist with pre-employment process by communicating pre-employment documents, coordinating pre-employment drug screening, and fingerprinting.
  • Assist as committee representative in the design, development, implementation of employee recognition programs and employee relation activities.
  • Maintain electronic and manual filing systems accurately and confidentially.
  • Compile data and prepare reports as requested by Director of Human Resources.
  • Update information in the Human Resources Information System as needed.
  • Create and distribute oral and written communications independently as directed.
  • Communicate effectively with employees on behalf of the Human Resources Department.
  • Assist and advise Director of Human Resources about Human Resources issues.
  • Maintain Human Resource compliance to regulatory standards; comply with all Tribal and Federal legal requirements.
  • Maintain appearance standards and good attendance record as outlined in departmental policies.
  • Other duties as directed by management.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where team work is essential.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

LEVEL OF AUTHORITY & RESTRICTIONS

  • Not a supervisory position.

WORKING CONDITIONS & ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be willing to travel out of town as needed.
  • Moderate noise level with frequent interruptions and distractions.
