Crosby Bar & Restaurant Assistant Manager

The setting provides an oasis in SoHo for hotel guests, business and leisure dining in a space that features stunning design to showcase food and service that meets and exceeds expectations.
The Assistant Bar & Restaurant Manager:
- To assist the F&B Manager in recruiting and retaining high calibre employees for the department
- To ensure effective departmental communication takes place through pre-service meetings, one-on-one coaching
- To monitor and update restaurant training manuals and starter kits and ensure they are fully utilized
- To perform staff appraisals for restaurant all team members twice annually.
- Monitor, identify and organize the delivery of training solutions in line with identified training needs
- To drive forward the order of service guidelines wherever possible
- To maintain high standard of discipline for the department
- To ensure that department is appropriately staffed at all times
- To ensure that all members of the Food and Beverage team have excellent product and menu knowledge
- To ensure that there is a restaurant incentive scheme in place at all times
- Able to successfully coach and communicate with employees in a positive manner
The Assistant Bar & Restaurant Manager brings the following talent and experience to the role:
- Minimum of 4 years of F&B management experience in a luxury hotel environment or fine dining restaurant environment (2-star or better) in New York City
- To ensure that every guest need is met and exceeded wherever possible
- To ensure that guest complaints are handled according to company standards and that they are followed through and reported to the F&B Manager and/or Duty Manager
- To act as a role model for the Food and Beverage team, particularly in guest contact skills and personal presentation
- To fully utilize guest history in order to develop individual guest service experience
- To ensure that all team members are aware of VIPs and their requirements
- Create and maintain a personal rapport with guests
- To obtain constructive feedback from guests and ensure it is inputted into client record and is communicated and carried out on their next visit
- To proactively seek to develop all aspects of the department in relation to service and procedures
- To maintain a constant and active presence and the floor and to both support and direct the service team
