CROM is Hiring a Business Development Specialist Near Gainesville, FL

Job Description:

CROM's Business Development Specialists (BDS) will strengthen the Business Development Department by supporting multiple Business Development Managers' (BDM) efforts to create proposal growth. The internal and external responsibilities of the BDS will leverage the BDMs' time and help to optimize the sales cycle process.

Essential Duties and Core Responsibilities:

  • Internal Sales
  • Receive opportunities and leads from BDMs and support the efforts in nurturing them from creation to sales cycle end.
  • Vet leads for existing active opportunities to ensure maximum potential for bookings.
  • Compile detailed information and submit all required documentation to begin internal opportunity tracking.
  • Review plans, specifications, photos, and other project documentation to optimize strategic selling, generate accurate estimates, and mitigate any risks to CROM.
  • Attend scope review meetings, estimate review meetings, and any other relevant progression meetings for each opportunity.
  • Ensure each opportunity follows all internal processes in a timely manner, by collaborating efficiently with all key department team members, affording customers high-quality yet quick turnaround deliverables.
  • Assist BDM with the maintenance of the opportunities pipeline within CRM[MR1] to ensure all opportunity activities are updated for the week.
  • Facilitate thorough project handoff meetings to provide all relevant project information to the Execution Team once an opportunity becomes a project to maximize savings during execution.
  • External Sales
    • Assist in the generation of requests for information on bid and proposal opportunities.
    • Follow up with clients on outstanding proposals and update CRM.
    • Develops sales opportunities by researching and identifying potential accounts, soliciting new accounts, building rapport, and preparing quotations.
    • Updates job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities.
    • Collaborates with the Marketing Team to maximize the visibility of the CROM brand in alignment with our Core Values and Culture.
  • Networking and Customer Relations
  • Fill in for BDM in networking events, conferences, pre-bid meetings, site visits, and other related activities, as needed.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Represents the CROM brand and culture in a positive way.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail.
  • Applies sound judgment by honoring Core Values and good business sense.
  • Ability to communicate well in person, on the phone, via video conference, and through written correspondence.
  • Ability to collaborate well with other Team members.
  • Excellent organizational skills and professionalism.
  • Ability to build relationships quickly and effectively.
  • Responsive to inquiries, requests, and demands in a timely and efficient manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree with a concentration in engineering, building construction, marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration. Alternatively, 5 years of water/wastewater industry inside sales experience.
  • Comfortable with direct in-person sales and marketing.
  • Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
  • Advanced in MS Office suite and CRM.
  • Must work well in high-pressure and time-sensitive situations while collaborating with other core competencies.
  • Must be comfortable working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and able to honor our Core Values.
  • Valid driver license and clean driving record.
