Position Overview

The Senior Strategy & Development Manager will work as a member of the Strategy & Development Team of the CRH Americas Materials West Division. In this capacity, the Manager will report to the VP of Strategy & Development and work with the Division President, Division CFO, Region Presidents and Company Presidents as well as other members of the Senior Leadership Team across the Division to support and guide strategic planning and development projects.

**Acceptable work locations: Salt Lake City, Utah; Spokane, Washington; Salem, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; Kansas City, Kansas; or Omaha, Nebraska.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Support the end-to-end acquisition process including detailed market analysis and idea generation, strategic fit, due diligence, valuation, contract negotiation, integration and post-closing issue resolution
  • Partner with the team to refine corporate strategy across businesses to ensure that strategy is synthesized in a concise and easy-to-communicate way within all operations and support functions to drive execution at the business level
  • Effectively communicate and convey verbal and written presentations, proposals and recommendations to senior leaders with clarity, thoroughness and professionalism
  • Build rapport and partnership with key leaders internally (operating company leaders and functional leaders) and externally (consultants, investment bankers and other advisors) to execute on growth plans.
  • Assist with the financial due diligence processes on acquisitions and divestitures
  • Embrace ambiguity with a growth mindset to identify and pursue innovative strategies when working on complex projects
  • Assist in the analysis of multiple markets and strategic acquisition opportunities.
  • Build analytical models and perform financial analysis to value acquisition opportunities.
  • Partner with the other Strategy & Development teams across AMAT to coordinate and align strategic initiatives and M&A strategy and facilitate the acquisition process.
  • Provide support for post-closing activities such as plant, mobile equipment, land and reserves valuations, opening balance sheet accounts, inventory adjustments construction work-in-process true-ups, and appropriate accounting structures

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • Bachelors Degree. MBA preferred
  • Four years of relevant experience including a combination of accounting, finance, acquisition, integration support operations or management experience
  • Similar or direct industry experience is a benefit

Work Requirements

  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Willingness to work independently within a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required
  • Must be able to able to work under time constraints and ensure deadlines are met
  • Travel approximately 25% with brief periods to 60%

Work Environment

  • Base Salary: $140,000 – $165,000/year
