HOUSE MANAGER (Residential Home)
Starting at $20 
$1000 SIGN ON BONUS
Tues - Sat 9a-5p = 40 hours

Creative Works is growing every day. With five community service program locations throughout central and southern Maine, and 35 residential homes, this means an abundance of opportunities for your career.

The House Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations of the residential program. The House Manager ensures the highest quality services are being provided in the program while complying with all relevant regulations. The House Manager is the direct supervisor for all DSPs in the program and provides a significant amount of direct service to the people living in the program as well.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide quality care to program participants in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality.
  • Support daily interactions between participants and staff to promote a culture of positivity, respect, commitment and optimism.
  • Act as an exemplary role model to program staff by demonstrating great attendance, accountability and strong work ethic.
  • Provide both positive and developmental feedback to staff members. Assist with writing and implementing performance evaluations, warnings, and supervisions.
  • Train new staff in all areas including individual plans, personal care requirements and performance expectations.
  • Responsible for scheduling service planning meetings for the individuals in the program, coordinating with the guardians and case managers around the planning meetings, and writing the plan.
  • Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Fully understands and abides by the agency’s code of ethics and all other CW policies and procedures.
  • Fully understands all aspects of participants’ rights and is responsible for promptly reporting any evidence of abuse or violation of participants’ rights.
  • Conduct and facilitate team meetings and ensure that open communication is maintained within the residential staff and address any and all concerns immediately.
  • Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with all Participants, CW team members, family members, guardians, case workers, medical providers for Participants, and other stakeholders.
  • Complete all necessary reports and submit (when appropriate) to Business Office in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the implementation of all program related budgets and monitor budgets as needed.
  • Responsible for House Manager rotating on-call schedule.
  • Must maintain medications and ensure adequate supply at all times.
  • Approve and make necessary edits to employee timecards within Attendance on Demand software to ensure accurate and timely payroll submission.
  • Transport individuals, as needed, using personal vehicle (i.e., to appointments, work, etc.)

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure daily operations adhere to CARF accreditation standards, as well as State and Federal regulations.
  • Attend Regional House Manager Meetings and agency House Manager Meetings; communicate any concerns and report outcomes back to staff in a timely manner.
  • Act as Creative Works’ representative during emergency room admissions. Provide crisis intervention during emergency situations. This responsibility is supported by the agency’s Nurse Consultant.
  • Demonstrate understanding of clinical rehabilitative therapies and act as liaison between Creative Works and external clinicians.
  • Ability to be patient, empathetic, and calm at all times especially in heightened situations.
  • Manage and oversee documentation for permanent files to ensure compliance with the Department of Health and Human Services’ regulations and Creative Works’ standards. Regularly perform Quality Assurance reviews to ensure documentation is up to code at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL WORK TOLERANCES:

  • This position is very active and requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
  • Must frequently assist in lifting non-living loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Must frequently assists participants’ with transfers.
  • While performing this job the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and see to the extent necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Direct Support experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Must have ability to communicate well in the program, including the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language so that the support of the participant receiving services can be met, and so that the relationship and work with co-workers, doctors, therapists and others in the community is successful.
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills to the extent necessary to perform the job.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, the following: DSP, CRMA, CPR/First Aid, Mandt
  • All required trainings must be completed within four months of hiring date.
  • Must have adequate writing skills to maintain documentation standards, reports, IPPs, and any other writing expectation in the program.
  • Must have satisfactory driving record per agency’s insurance company standards.
  • Flexible schedule preferred.
  • Previous experience in related field preferred.
