The Customer Service Representative (CSR) is responsible for managing the relationship and daily interaction with Landair’s transactional (truckload and brokerage) customers, growing relationships and managing service to achieve load growth objectives. The CSR will efficiently manage and coordinate; 1) load count growth, 2) accuracy of information entered into the system, 3) service performance levels, improving quality of freight, 4) strengthen relationships with customers, 5) proactively communicate issues with customers.
• Creating, developing and retaining business relationships with assigned customers• Managing account relationships as the primary point of contact for day to day needs, including ongoing communications , coordination of customer needs, billing, collections and other activities• Identify and qualify additional opportunities with existing customer through relationship building • Understand current market conditions to identify additional opportunities to increase margins• Monitor service to meet customer expectations• Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.
Daily CSR Process:• Go over turnover left by extended coverage to update customers on any customer issues• Follow up with customers on any missed loads / service issues• Call customers for load opportunities• Monitor EDI for any load tenders• Track and monitor all loads picking up and delivering throughout the day• Leave detailed turnover for extended coverage with any customer issues
Daily CSR Expectations• Monitor customer load count based on commitment levels set by customer • Monitor service percentage based on individual customer expectations• Book and schedule loads to maximize driver utilization • Daily contact with customers to build relationships• Monitor customer detention and billing• Accurate data input AS400• Additional booking opportunities for Solutions Group
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities• General knowledge of U.S. Geography and U.S. Interstate system. • Sufficient in Microsoft Office applications. • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, operations personnel and management. • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, sometimes on short notice. • Organization, detail orientation and ability to handle multiple projects required. Education and Experience• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in business, logistics or other relevant area is required. • Experience in transportation industry, preferably in Fleet Management, Load Planning or Customer Service is preferred. • Must have advanced customer service and employee relations skills and be able to effectively communicate in verbal, electronic and written format. • AS400 experience preferred but not required • Excellent attendance record at prior jobs.

The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.Pay Range: $40,000.63-$62,120.37Pay Grade: 6
