County of San Luis Obispo is Hiring a Water Systems Worker Trainee- I/II/III (Temporary) Near San Luis Obispo, CA

The County of San Luis Obispo Public Works Department is seeking 
an entry-level, temporary Water Systems Worker Trainee or experienced temporary Water Systems Worker I/II/III. 
Classes in this series perform a wide variety of unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled work in all phases of the operation, maintenance, repair, and light construction activities associated with potable water treatment, wastewater treatment, water distribution, collection and disposal systems; and perform other related work as required. Incumbents may work in one or more of the following areas: (a) potable water treatment operations; (b) wastewater treatment operations; or (c) water distribution operations, water supply and wastewater collection and dam and flood control operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

All levels: Graduation from high school or possession of a general educational development (GED) certificate.

Water Systems Worker TraineeNo experience required.

Wastewater Systems Worker IOne year of qualifying experience as a wastewater treatment plant operator or equivalent in accordance with the SWRCB (Chapter 26, Title 23 of the California Code of Regulations).

Wastewater Systems Worker IITwo years of experience as Wastewater Systems Worker I or equivalent in accordance with the SWRCB (Chapter 26, Title 23 of the California Code of Regulations).

Wastewater Systems Worker IIIThree years of experience as a Wastewater Systems Worker II or equivalent in accordance with the SWRCB (Chapter 26, Title 23 of the California Code of Regulations). 

Licenses and Certificates:
Certain positions within this classification may require driving. When driving is an essential function of the position, a valid CALIFORNIA driver license will be required at the time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.
 
Wastewater Systems Worker Trainee
No certificate required. Within 24 months of appointment must possess a valid SWRCB Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade I Certification.

Wastewater Systems Worker I: Possession of a valid SWRCB Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade I Certification or equivalent. Within 24 months of appointment must possess a SWRCB Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade II Certification, which must be maintained throughout employment.

Wastewater Systems Worker IIPossession of a valid SWRCB Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade II Certification or equivalent. Within 36 months of appointment must possess a SWRCB Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade III Certification, which must be maintained throughout employment.

Wastewater Systems Worker III: Possession of a valid SWRCB Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Grade III or higher Certification or equivalent, which must be maintained throughout employment
