Typical Tasks and Representative DutiesPrepares periodic statistical and financial reports and records ensuring proper classification and distribution of budgeting and cost accounting data
Verifies the accuracy of journal and ledger postings and makes adjusting entries when necessary
Performs manual and computerized utility billing and other accounts receivable activities reconciles billed and collected amounts to general ledger accounts
Acts as a lead worker by training, assigning, and reviewing the work of subordinates
Prepares budget items, journals, transfers, and other nonpayment financial documents; gathers, assembles, tabulates, posts, proofs, extends, balances, and summarizes complex financial and statistical data
Performs complex mathematical calculations
Audits personnel action forms (PAFs) and records changes; operates a variety of office equipment including word processors, personal computers, data processing equipment, electronic copiers, printers, and calculators
Performs general clerical accounting work as assigned; keeps and maintains a variety of records, journals, ledgers, and reports

Effective July 1, 2024, the compensation for this position will increase by 2.50%. This is a bargained across-the-board increase for this job classification.
This recruitment may be used to fill future permanent, substitute, limited-term, and temporary positions, both full-time and part-time throughout the County.

One year of experience as an Account Clerk or an equivalent position.
