The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accounting for assigned investments, which includes the preparation of journal entries, wire transfers, fundings, distributions, reconciliations and analyses,. The Staff Accountant reports to one or more Senior Accountants.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Preparation of general journal entriesPreparation of system generated and manual wire transfersRecord monthly accruals for expenses, interest income, and other itemsPrepare monthly account reconciliations and reporting packagesMonitor cash on a daily basis and record entriesPrepare monthly bank reconciliationsCalculate and prepare distributionsInteract and coordinate with finance/acquisition/asset management professionals regarding budgeting/forecasting, regulatory and lender reporting, investment fundingsCoordinate with internal and external auditorsQualifications:2 – 3 years of accounting experience in a corporate environmentCurrent CPA a plusReal estate or financial services industry experience a plus.
