Corewell Health Corporate is Hiring a Business Development Specialist Near Grand Rapids, MI


Job Summary
Responsible for promoting and marketing Spectrum Health Continuing Care's (SHCC) services with the goal of educating care providers relative to the industry and on the various options that SHCC offers. Obtains and prompts conversion of referred patients to admissions and facilitates a smooth transition of patients into Continuing Care facilities. Maintains communication with assigned physicians, Skilled Nursing Facilities, hospitals, external case managers and other referral sources as needed. May coordinate with and provide coverage, education and operations support to, the Post Acute Services and Benefits Consultants.
Essential Functions

  • Obtains and prompts conversion of referred patients to admissions and facilitates a smooth transition of patients into Continuing Care entities.
  • Maintains communication with assigned physicians, Skilled Nursing Facilities, hospitals, external case managers and other referral sources as needed.
  • May coordinate with and provide coverage, education and operations support to, the Post Acute Services and Benefits Consultants.
  • Works with internal SHCC leadership, Directors of Business Development, and others as needed in identifying and filling the needs of Health Care Providers when specific services are requested or problem resolution is required.
  • Uses appropriate skills to identify needs, offer appropriate solutions, overcome objections, seek closure to the engagement and provide effective follow-up. Maintains records of activities through applicable software.
  • Works with the manager to formulate and continually update targeted provider lists and territory strategies. Contributes current and relevant market intelligence to manager and/or executive leadership in a timely manner and documents in an activity report.
  • Is an integral part of the Marketing/Communications team and participates in such strategies that impact communication with the physician community. Educates and informs referral source customers, social workers, clinical staff and care facilitators of acute care hospitals, physicians, community resources, patient, and families regarding programs.

  • Required Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent education and experience)
  • Prior experience with persons requiring long-term acute care, sub-acute care, long-term care, home infusion, home care and/or hospice Preferred
