Senior Electrical Engineer Job Summary

Our client, a leading full-service engineering, design, and construction company that provides services to the oil & gas, manufacturing, heavy industrial, and mining industries is searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer for their Houston office. They work on all sizes of projects across North America at a fast pace while providing a team-centric approach to work. This hands-on position will lead the electrical portion of engineering projects, including conducting tasks and calculations necessary to select and integrate electrical equipment to run the site. This position will be responsible for determining the scope, schedule, and workflow, and will function as the main point of contact for all technical or construction questions.

Senior Electrical Engineer Responsibilities

• Performs engineering tasks within the engineer's background, education, and licensure knowledge base
• Develops electrical design packages
• Packages to include load lists, one lines, circuit schedules, lighting, grounding, cable tray, underground plans, layouts, area classification, 3D model review, and project lead reports
• Completes electrical reports, calculations, and studies
• Responds to questions from the field team during construction
• Sizes and rates electrical equipment needed to perform required project functions
• Creates electrical equipment specifications and datasheets
• Reviews vendor and contractor bids and assists in procurement
• Reviews deliverables for engineering correctness and constructability
• Facilitates interaction between departments, including completing a RACI model (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed) interdepartmental check
• Write field directives to clarify engineering issues
• Conduct company QA/QC procedures
• Client interaction including understanding needs and providing feedback

Senior Electrical Engineer Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering or similar field required
• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• 8 years' experience working with multidiscipline engineering project teams
• Experience creating electrical design packages, performing calculations, sizing/rating electrical equipment, and reviewing vendor/contractor bids
• Experience ensuring quality of deliverables to customers
