Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Hourly Rate: $28.00 - $30.00/hour
Location: Hybrid - Washington, DC
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Job Summary: The Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the organization's accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and distribute invoices to donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure accuracy in billing information and adherence to contractual terms.
- Record and reconcile incoming payments, ensuring accurate and timely application to appropriate accounts.
- Collaborate with the finance team to resolve discrepancies and address payment-related inquiries.
- Maintain positive relationships with donors and sponsors, providing excellent customer service in all interactions.
- Communicate effectively to address inquiries, provide receipts, and address any concerns.
- Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and cash flow projections.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, legal requirements, and internal policies.
- Stay informed about relevant changes in accounting standards and regulations.
- Work closely with the Finance Manager/Director and other team members to support overall financial operations.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven years of experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
