About the Role
The Company, an innovative provider of an all-in-one car ownership platform, is seeking a VP of Engineering to lead their software engineering function. This role involves managing and scaling a team of approximately 70 talented software engineers, mentoring and developing the team, and ensuring high-quality and high-velocity execution across the entire engineering organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a team culture that embodies the company's values of excellence, ownership, and urgency, and will work closely with the co-founder/CTO to help the company grow from 5 million to 50 million users. The VP of Engineering will also be expected to continuously raise the bar on talent density, recruit stellar engineers, and foster a collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven culture.Applicants should have software development experience scaling a consumer-facing product, strong technical mastery in software engineering, and a commitment to learning and improving their craft. The role requires a hands-on approach to diving into the code, a strong sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability, and experience leading a high-performance engineering team, ideally with 50 or more engineers. The company's technical stack includes Typescript, Nest.js, Next.js, React, React Native, Expo, GraphQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, Clickhouse, Redis, and is built on AWS with a microservice architecture. The VP of Engineering will also facilitate collaboration with cross-functional partners including product, design, data science, marketing, and operations.
