Job Description:

D.A. Davidson is seeking a dynamic Director of Managed Assets to act in a player-coach capacity by leading a team and providing strategic direction for the Wealth Management advisory program. This role oversees all aspects of advisory services including both program ownership and advisor engagement. This person will have in-depth knowledge of the investment advisory space including rules, regulations, technology and implementation of an advisory program. This role will collaborate with leaders within the organization to manage the D.A. Davidson advisory offerings in a highly regulated environment. This position will also help to provide strategic direction for the department alongside leadership of the Advisor Solutions Team (AST).

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or a minimum of 10 years of related professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of the various products and services offered at D.A. Davidson and available generally to a Wealth Management business with in-depth knowledge of advisory programs and platforms.
  • Experience working directly with financial advisors including thorough knowledge of advice-centric business models.
  • History of managing highly productive teams.
  • Seasoned knowledge of investment products, portfolio construction, financial and investment principles, economics, and conditions affecting the securities market.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements for securities products and services
  • Series 7, 24, 63, 65 and/or 66 required.
  • Experience utilizing Envestnet technology strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and to implement initiatives seeing projects to completion.
  • Excellent communication and presentations skills with the ability to develop and foster strong professional relationships.
  • Flexibility to travel to branches in the Davidson footprint, sometimes with short notice.
Duties:
  • Develop and execute the firm’s advisory strategy ensuring financial advisors have access to the products and programs needed to solve for client goals and objectives.
  • Take responsibility for advisory programs and platform ownership including maintaining proper policies, procedures, client disclosures and program guidelines.
  • Lead a team tasked with managing the day-to-day business as well as engaging with advisors to expand the awareness of the Managed Assets department.
  • Develop an understanding of how financial advisors utilize programs and facilitate workflows that enables ease of use in conjunction with other parts of the firm.
  • Develop strong partnerships with Davidson Investment Advisors, Davidson Trust, Fixed Income Capital Markets and Equity Capital Markets divisions.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Supervision, Compliance and Legal teams, to build and maintain key relationships, to promote a culture of compliance.
  • Manage projects to enhance programs, platforms, meet regulatory requirements including formulating project plans and timelines, facilitating working sessions, reporting on progress, and driving execution.
  • Oversee and drive initiatives, events, training and communications as needed to represent the firm’s advisory business.
  • Contribute to firm’s thought leadership as a member of the Advisor Solutions Team Leadership team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The potential base pay hiring range for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. The compensation offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis considering a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the skills, relevant work experience, and geographic location of each specific candidate.
