Reporting : CEO, COO, and other senior leaders Position Summary:
The VP, Finance is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company’s operations. This role is pivotal in shaping the financial future of the company, ensuring its financial stability, and optimizing financial performance. The VP, Finance will collaborate closely with the CEO, COO, and other senior leaders to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.
This role serves all company businesses (management, label, publishing, studios, and agency) and has primary responsibility over all financial reporting and operations.
Responsibilities:· Financial Strategy and Infrastructure Development : Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy that supports the company's growth objectives, long-term sustainability, and profitability, with an emphasis on improving financial systems.
· Financial Planning & Analysis : Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities to provide insightful financial guidance and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
· Financial Reporting : Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports for stakeholders, regulators, and investors.
· Systems : Manage all financial systems (Sage Intacct, Tipalti, Rippling, etc.)
· Accounting : Oversee all accounting functions, including monthly financial close, yearly audits, payroll/compensation, royalties processing, etc.
· Compliance, Tax & Regulatory Affairs : Stay abreast of financial regulations and ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
· Treasury Management : Oversee cash management, liquidity, currency risk and investment strategies to optimize cash flow and maintain financial stability.
· Financial Leadership : Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
· Mergers & Acquisitions : Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, or strategic partnerships, conducting due diligence and providing financial expertise in negotiations.
Background and Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
· Proven experience as a Controller, Finance Director, CFO or similar executive role.
· Exceptional financial analysis and strategic planning skills.
· Experience in managing complex financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
· Proficiency in financial software and reporting tools.
· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Personal Characteristics:On a personal level, this individual must be self-confident and resilient. The finalist will possess the maturity that comes with experience, combined with a high energy level and enthusiasm. This executive must have the presence, visibility and record of accomplishment that will enable them to immediately establish credibility both within the organization and with individuals external to it.
The ideal candidate will be an intelligent, nimble, and forward-thinking financial executive who is team-oriented, proactive and predisposed to act as a “partner, mentor, player/coach” in the finance function. They will have a “roll up the sleeves” attitude and a “hands on” style, while also being sensitive to the organization and the dynamics of effecting change.
This person will be well-organized, having strong leadership and managerial skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will have the flexibility and adaptability to be able to change direction instantly to meet the dynamic needs of the Organization.
Most importantly, the ideal candidate will be ethical and have an unquestioned level of personal and professional integrity.
