SUMMARY

The IT Support Technician position provides enterprise support for onsite and remote end-user laptop and desktop computer systems, including operating system and application installation and troubleshooting. Modifies and makes minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems. This individual provides technical assistance and training to end users, installs or assists personnel in installation of hardware and peripherals, installs software onto computer systems, and responds to inquiries regarding systems and diagnoses problems. The IT Support Technician instructs users in the use of equipment and computer systems. The ideal candidate will possess two or more years of experience and desire a long-term position with the opportunity for growth.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and peripherals to end-users via phone, email, chat, in-person, or remotely.
  • Utilize help desk ticketing system to manage trouble tickets; documenting support activities, troubleshooting steps and resolutions.
  • Set up and configure desktop and laptop computers, printers, and other peripheral devices.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade Microsoft Windows operating systems and software applications.
  • Diagnose and replace faulty computer components to include hard drives, RAM, power supplies, and I/O adapters cards.
  • Provide basic network support, including connectivity troubleshooting of both wired and wireless connections.
  • Assist with network administration tasks such as user account management and access control in a Windows domain environment.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and escalate complex issues with vendors when needed to ensure timely resolution.
  • Assist with IT asset management, including inventory tracking and equipment deployment.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure the security and performance of systems.
  • Flexibility to shift quickly between tasks to meet business needs when required.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills to explain technical issues to non-technical people.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and technical support to all employees, ensuring a positive user experience.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Two plus years of related experience and training; and/or
  • Industry Certification such as CompTIA A , Network , or Microsoft
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
