Full Job Description

Overview:
The Campground Maintenance Technician oversees the upkeep and maintenance of campground facilities and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and enjoyable environment for visitors. This role involves coordinating maintenance tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work activities of maintenance personnel, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring completion of assignments in a timely manner.
  • Facility maintenance: Inspect campground facilities such as restrooms, showers, picnic areas, trails, and campsites regularly to identify maintenance needs. Coordinate repairs, cleaning, and upkeep to maintain facilities in good condition.
  • Grounds maintenance: Groundskeeping activities including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, removing debris, and maintaining landscaping to enhance the appearance and safety of the campground.
  • Equipment maintenance: Maintenance and repair of equipment and tools used for groundskeeping and facility maintenance, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly stored.
  • Safety and compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards. Implement safety protocols and procedures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe environment for staff and visitors.
  • Inventory management: Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for maintenance activities. Order supplies as needed and monitor expenses to stay within budget.
  • Record keeping: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, equipment inspections, and inventory. Prepare reports as required by management.
  • Staff training: Provide training and guidance to maintenance staff on safety procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance techniques to ensure efficient and effective performance of duties.
  • Customer service: Respond to visitor inquiries, concerns, and complaints regarding campground facilities and grounds. Address issues promptly and courteously to ensure a positive experience for visitors.
  • Maintenance & coordination of the pool, testing chemicals, cleaning surface, power washing deck & chairs
  • Use of heavy machinery like bobcat to spread gravel
  • Collaborate with other departments: Coordinate with campground management, administrative staff, and other departments to support overall campground operations and customer service initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in facilities management, landscaping, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in maintenance, facilities management, or groundskeeping
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and environmental standards relevant to campground operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with staff, visitors, and management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools, lawn care equipment, and maintenance machinery.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.

This job description outlines the primary duties, responsibilities, and qualifications for the role of Campground Maintenance Technician. Additional duties may be assigned as needed to support campground operations and meet organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Survey buildings to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards and report to Property Manager
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
  • Inspect systems
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
  • Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide
  • Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)

Skills

  • Proven experience as maintenance technician
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing and other systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
  • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
  • Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Pool experience preferred
  • Genuine desire to exceed guest's expectations

Shift: Wed-Monday 9am-5pm, On Call for evenings.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Every weekend
  • On call

Experience:

  • Facilities Maintenance Occupations: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Landscaping: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Preferred)
