General Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Billing and Credentialing Operations, the Billing Support Specialists identifies, analyzes, and resolves routine accounts receivable issues within the assigned portfolio of accounts. This position also requires the Billing Support Specialists, applies acquired job skills in the performance of accounts receivable and credentialing responsibilities in compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
Perform assigned responsibilities in compliance with company policies and procedures; meeting or exceeding goals within company-defined timelines.
Work assigned reports to resolve missing Billing information and/or correct.
Serve as point of contact and interface with cross-functional teams.
Maintain an audit trail by gathering appropriate documentation throughout the collection process and resolution.
Perform Internal Audits
Assist in departmental training in processes and procedures as needed.
Perform administrative activities in support of accounts receivable operations within the assigned function(s).
Perform Credentialing tasks.
Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
Maintain various confidential patient, employee, and company information in compliance with company policies and procedures, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
5 years’ related experience.
Highschool Diploma
Medical Billing and Coding Certificate is a plus
CPC Certification is a plus
Great computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email applications.
Practice Management Software Experience
Meticulous with good analytical and organizational skills.
Suitable time management skills with the ability to multitask concurrent priorities in an organized manner.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision as necessary, and alternately work cohesively within a team environment.
Possess a positive, enthusiastic, and energetic attitude.
Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to twenty-five pounds.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions.
Must possess the ability to utilize visual and auditory senses to complete all job duties as assigned.
Must be able to work in a typical office and healthcare environment.
