Retirement Solutions Manager

Essential Job Functions
  • Ensures Concordia Retirement Plan (CRP) is operating per plan provisions and administrative policies, including managing all plan/provision changes and vendor compliance.
  • Manages team ensuring the accurate, timely, complaint administration of survivor and death benefits under the Concordia Disability and Survivor Plan (CDSP) and Concordia Retirement Plan (CRP).
  • Oversees service team to ensure excellence in all customer experience areas, including: education, delivery, and evaluation.
  • Partners with vendors to execute solutions, streamline processes and create efficiencies to maximize the member experience.
  • Oversees the use of various vendor systems to include Benefit Connect, Lawson and Pinnacle and ensures all systems are functioning properly and set up per the Plan terms.
  • Implements any plan changes or new plans; ensures changes in plan provisions are correctly set-up and processes are adjusted to reflect new provisions.
  • Handles escalated process and service concerns including partnering across the organization for efficiency and optimal ministry and member experience.
  • Oversees the exception review process ensuring stewardship and compassion to members and employers, includes: complex research, risk assessment, plan interpretation, preparing documentation, and executing decision.
  • Identifies, designs, recommends and implements process, customer experience, and operational improvements and efficiencies.
  • Acts as the central point of contact with external vendors and internal stakeholders for the purposes of operations.
  • Manages relationship with ministry employees related to the CRP and survivor and life benefits including frequent communication, education and updates to ensure ministry employers are knowledgeable in the processes and plan features.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders in writing and developing administrative processes that support processing CRP benefits in conjunction with applicable Concordia Plan documents and vendor processes.
  • Organizes and assigns all the work within the department for proper resource utilization.
  • Participates in special projects as defined by senior management.
  • Manages the relationship between the department and consulting groups engaged for specific projects.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required.
  • 8 years of experience in administering benefit plans, required.
  • 5 years of experience in defined contribution plans and related products, preferred.
  • 5 years of experience managing people and teams.
