Reporting Analyst

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop data driven reports using business intelligence (BI) tools for leadership, business owners, and all levels of the organization.
  • Build data sets and provide analysis and insights to internal stakeholders for solution development.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports for use by department and all levels of the organization.
  • Streamline existing department reports/processes using business intelligence tools.
  • Learn and apply business rules to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Partner with IT and other stakeholders to design, create, and validate new dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
  • Build relationships across departments to exchange information, ideas, and learnings on reporting tools.
  • Act as a BI tool subject matter expert and mentor for the department.
  • Develop reports upon request and provide data for external consultants, auditors, vendors, and internal customers as necessary.
  • Analyze both financial and non-financial data as requested; complete variance analyses; reconcile data.
  • Perform data analysis with an eye to automating reports and creating dashboards that allow for quick responses to ad hoc requests.
  • Create audit processes to validate data quality and ensure report integrity.
  • Assist with other projects, data analysis, and systems testing as needed.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a business, mathematics, or computer science related discipline.
  • Three years of experience with data analysis and reporting
  • Two years of experience with Power BI or similar visualization tools required.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, query tools and statistical software; SQL strongly preferred.
  • Ability to manipulate large sets of data using statistical procedures.
  • Healthcare, employee benefit, or insurance industry experience preferred.
