Description

Concept Solutions is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (SA). The Senior SA will be part of a 4-5 member staff of senior administrators supporting the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Command, Control, and Communications (C3). C3 is responsible for ensuring FAA managers have daily situational awareness and continuity of communications in an emergency. This position is in Washington, DC. Once fully trained, some telework will be offered.

The SA will be the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific technical components of the Emergency Operations Network (EON) infrastructure, including Windows Active Directory network, provisioning servers, managing patching solutions, website monitoring, backups, security scanning, reporting and remediation.

 The primary functions of the candidate will include, but are not limited to:

• Provide O&M for the virtualized environments (VMware vCenter 8.x, and Hyper-V to include ESXi and distributed switches)
• Provision hardware, storage, resources and configuration/administration, including high-availability and failover services
• Provide configuration management to include authoring technical documentation, process changes, and inventory control
• Perform O&M of Windows applications such as Ivanti Security Controls, SQL server, DNS, FAA custom web applications and audit solutions
• Research and obtain quotes for hardware/software based on customer requirements
• Provide superior customer service; possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer centric environment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field 8 years of experience
• 8 additional years of relevant years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
• Knowledge of:

- Basic networking technologies (switches, routers, VLANs).

- MS Windows Server 2022/2019/2016 (focus on Active Directory, Group Policy)

•  Experience with:

- RAIDs, SANs, High Availability, Backups and Disaster Recovery.

- Security hardening of operating systems in a standalone environment as well as through GPOs

- VMware and/or Hyper-V management

- Storage engineer/administrator (NetApp, etc.)

Nice to have:

• An active Secret Clearance
• Big-ip f5 load balancing
