Your Mission

Redefine what’s possible in public education. It is your primary responsibility to build programs that support the full lifecycle of team members at Compass Rose from the start to end of their experience From the New Team Member Experience to a meaningful Exit Interview to everything in between, this energetic builder is responsible for the coordination, implementation, and completion of multiple simultaneous projects across the Talent, HR, and Schools teams that help retain world-class team members and continuously make Compass Rose a Great Place to Work.


Your Responsibilities


Talent Management

  • Facilitates the implementation of our network-wide Performance Evaluation System, known as the True North Development Cycle.
  • Facilitates the distribution and completion of the Great Place to Work survey to collect critical feedback to drive organizational change.
  • Build team member career pathways that ensure an equitable and clear understanding of career trajectory potential with Compass Rose.
  • Inputs team member data into various platforms, including staff lists, Great Place to Work, Strive (Eduphoria), etc.
  • Works with local community partners to adapt and share best practices of Talent Management
  • Host and facilitate professional learning spaces aligned to areas of equity and inclusion, including affinity groups and/or leadership cohorts.


First-Year Experience

  • Collaborates with the HR and Schools team to execute a vision and resources for what successful campus-based onboarding looks like for full-time, part-time, and contract (i.e. substitute teachers) team members.
  • Facilitates the New to Compass Rose Mentorship program to ensure a smooth transition of support from onboarding to their first year of employment.
  • Supports the smooth professional and personal transition of international teachers as a part of the J1 Visa process
  • Responsible for ongoing support and progress monitoring of teaching residents across the network.
  • Ensures training and support remain culturally relevant, equitable, and inclusive of the needs of our schools to ensure team members


Offboarding

  • Partner with HR to facilitate meaningful Exit Interviews, using a confidential data-collection mechanism to communicate trends to key stakeholders.
  • Use Great Place to Work Data and team member retenion rates to drive network-wide recommendations to support team member experiences


Supervisory Responsibilities: None


You

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Leadership experience in K-12 education (preferred)
  • Experience in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Talent Management, etc. (Preferred)
  • Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously with cross-functional impact
  • Ability to work successfully and professionally with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and explain them in simple terms.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, identify improvements, and make simple decisions independently.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks at once.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills


The Compass Rose Team

  • Provides Paid Leave Days (10 Days for 10-month team members, 12 Days for 11-month team members, and 14 Days 5 Summer Days for 12-month)
  • Closure Dates (27 days in addition to summer break for 10 and 11-month team members and 34 days for 12-month team members) varied based on the school calendar
  • Team members are paid out on a 12-month basis.
  • Provides curriculum and lesson planning support as well as clear roles/responsibilities in terms of instructional expectations and schedule.
  • Provides consistent Coaching and Feedback through our True North Development Cycle and Polaris Instructional Coaching Cycle


Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary based upon credentials and experience ranging from $56,000 to $68,000
  • This position is a one-year internship, making you a 12-month employee
