Community Resource Center is Hiring a Tax Outreach Community Organizer Near Denver, CO

Position Summary:
Tax Outreach Community Organizers will engage with communities accessing services at nonprofit partner sites across the state with a focus in Alamosa, Boulder, Denver, and Grand Junction to provide information about tax credit and free, tax filing assistance options. Organizers will work closely with 1-2 direct service nonprofits within diverse communities to provide tax credit outreach.

This is a part-time (approximately 10-20 hours/week), temporary, non-exempt, paid position February – May, $21.50/hour. Schedule will be flexible and may include some weekend and evening work. This position reports to the Civic Engagement Program Manager.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide tax credit information to community members as they access services at local nonprofits
  • Engage diverse communities and remain positive, assertive, and confident
  • Ensure thorough and accurate documentation of all interactions, conversations, resources distributed, and referrals to tax assistance sites
  • Complete brief outreach reports after each shift to share outreach numbers and communicate any challenges that arise
  • Respond to supervision and feedback during the project to meet program goals
  • Remain flexible to schedule changes and partner needs to increase field time efficiency and effectiveness
  • Facilitate connections with direct service nonprofits in region of work and introduce nonprofit contacts to Civic Engagement Program Manager
  • Adhere to all safety and social distancing protocols when on the job

Position Requirements:

  • Colorado residency
  • Provide proof of legal ability to work in the United State of America
  • Work remotely with internet service and a reasonable remote workspace for occasional administrative tasks
  • Access to reliable transportation to get to and from work sites

Skills Required:

  • Commitment to supporting traditionally underrepresented communities
  • Strong collaboration skills and a desire to work as part of a team and respond to the needs of the team
  • Experience working with diverse communities, in particular, communities of color, low-income communities, and immigrant and refugee communities
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with broad guidance
  • Good communication skills
  • Enjoy meeting and interacting with new people
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Preferred skills:

  • Prior experience with tax credit outreach
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Qualification Requirements – Educations and/or Equivalent Experience

  • 1 years of field or related experience
  • 1 years of work with diverse communities

Work Location, Schedule, and Environment:

  • Remote and in-person at partner nonprofits in one of the following locations: Alamosa, Boulder, Denver and Grand Junction
  • Flexibility and capacity to work in a fast paced, fluid, changing work environment
  • Wearing a mask when required by CRC policies
  • Bending, twisting, and lifting associated with event site setup
  • Indoor/outdoor work with varying temperatures and noise levels at large events

Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay : $21.50/hr
Bi-weekly pay periods

Benefits:
Health Time (6.1538% of hours worked), 13 CRC Holidays (8 hours full-time, 4 hours part-time each holiday), $18.47 full-time and $9.24 part-time bi-weekly reimbursement for internet/phone.
