COMMUNITY LIVING CENTERS, INC. is Hiring a Patient Care Technician Near Farmington, MI

Provide direct hands-on care and assistance in daily living to individuals living within assigned Group Home. Work alongside the Home Manager to provide support to the Home Manager. Work closely with the Medical Coordinator. Understand and execute the person-centered plan (PCP) and individual plan of service (IPOS).

1) ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS:

a) Maintain current knowledge of Employee Handbook.

b) Perform all assignments in accordance with established policies and procedures and as instructed by supervisor.

c) Make regular reports to immediate supervisor concerning assignments.

d) Participate in cooperative working relationships.

2) RECIPIENT/STAFF RIGHT FUNCTIONS:

a) Maintain current knowledge of and act in accordance with relevant recipient right guidelines.

b) Maintain confidentiality of recipient/staff information.

c) Report any recipient complaints and problems to supervisor.

3) HEALTH AND SAFETY FUNCTIONS:

a) Follow established safety, fire prevention, sanitation and smoking regulations.

b) Follow universal precautions and prevention and containment of communicable diseases.

c) Follow and enforce proper lifting procedures.

d) Use all equipment and supplies in a safe and efficient manner.

4) QUALITY ASSURANCE FUNCTIONS:

a) Assist in meeting all established quality assurance standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent education and experience preferred. Satisfactory completion of CMH Residential Program Training Requirements.

EXPERIENCE: 1 year experience in the mental health field preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

SKILLS: Ability to read and write English and perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions. Ability to document accurately and completely. Willingness and ability to work with vulnerable adults.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Safely lifts and transfers person served weighing average of 150 pounds on a frequent basis. Pushes person in wheelchair weighing up to 250 pounds on a frequent basis, often for long distances. Frequently climbs stairs, therefore must be able to climb stairs. Frequently stoops, twists, bend, squat and kneel. Lifts overhead. Frequently lifts supplies weighing 25 pounds. Frequently pushes/pulls medication and treatment carts, feels pulse rate and hears and reads blood pressure. Understands and follows instructions. Needs to see and hear persons served, unusual occurrences in living environment of person served. Drives agency van with persons served as passengers. Negative TB Test. Satisfactory physical examination.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.23 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
