COMMUNITY BIBLE CHURCH is Hiring an Assistant Project Manager Near San Antonio, TX

JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Assistant Project Manager is responsible for direct support to the Project Development Director who oversees construction projects for the church. This role involves a combination of construction-related tasks, such as managing project timelines, documenting meeting minutes, and handling construction submittals, as well as general administrative duties including email correspondence, office organization, and running errands.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in maintaining project timelines, ensuring deadlines are met
  • Document and distribute meeting minutes for construction project meetings
  • Manage and organize construction-related documents, including submittals, permits, and contracts
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors as needed
  • Assist in preparing and distributing construction project reports and updates
  • Manage email correspondence, including drafting, responding, and organizing messages
  • Perform various office tasks, including filing, scanning, and copying documents
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment, replenishing, as necessary
  • Assist in scheduling meetings and appointments for the Construction Project Manager
  • Handle incoming calls and inquiries, redirecting as appropriate
  • Run errands related to construction projects, such as picking up supplies or documents
  • Provide administrative support for other church-related activities and events as needed
  • Perform miscellaneous office tasks and assist with special projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

COMPETENCIES

  • Possess strong communication skills in the English language (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of computer office applications and equipment. Strong proficiency in Google Suite and/or MS Office
  • Possess creative and effective problem-solving with exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with flexibility, excellence and high capacity
  • Possess strong attention to detail
  • Highest level of personal integrity with an uncompromised commitment to the maintenance of the confidentiality and privacy of all personnel and church matters, data, and information

  • Genuine desire to serve God and the Church
  • Must be forward thinking and anticipate the needs of others
  • Familiarity with construction terminology, processes, and documentation (e.g., project timelines, submittals, permits)
  • Familiarity with the operations and culture of a church or religious organization.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Detail-oriented and capable of maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of operation are scheduled Monday – Thursday. Working weekends, potential evenings and special events may be required as job duties demand.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:

  • Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to move about inside the office and storage rooms to perform a variety of tasks and lift cases of water and other heavy materials as needed
  • Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Associate's or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, Procore) (preferred)
  • Previous experience in administrative support roles, preferably in a construction or project management environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (Required)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties are performed in an office setting where the work and general environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal.
