Lead Inspector About the company: Organization develops, designs, engineers and distributes products for aerospace applications. Precision hydroformed mechanically formed metal bellows and pressure switches that are used in hydraulic, fuel, oil, and pneumatic systems. Also, rotary actuators used in air management systems (AMS). Responsibilities:
This position is going to be inspecting machined parts coming in from manufacturing.
Carefully inspect components and take proper measurements (tolerances will often be to the 1/100 - 1/1000 of an inch).
Record all the data and perform final assembly of the components.
Evaluate pneumatic and electrical pressure switches for applications on heavy industrial machinery (organizations like Caterpillar, major airlines and NASA are among their customers).
The switches that are developed are often exposed to extreme temperatures variances and environmental demands.
Must have solid knowledge of electrical connections to the switches is ideal, but if a candidate is light on a particular skill (electrical most likely), they can train.
Solid understanding of pneumatic controls.
The testing equipment include: comparitors, verniers, micrometers, work under microscopes from time to time.
Must have computer skills to operate the software program they have which is connected to their testing stations that tests compression on switches up to 6000psi. Their software is MS Access based that records the data of specific company manufacturer, data on who tested the switch, specific data on the performance of the switch (from all tests performed).
All recorded and read on bar code tracking technology.
Required:
HS diploma. Ideally technical school or apprenticeship.
5 years of quality control experience for manufacturing company.
Experience with switches (electrical and pneumatic), actuators and hydraulics.
Measuring tools to include: comparitors, verniers, micrometers, work under microscopes from time to time.
