Job Duties

To provide Recreation Therapy services to mentally disordered inmates in a correctional setting using Recreation Therapy principles and techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

Working knowledge and understanding of mental disorders and appropriate recreation programming to meet the needs of a correctional psychiatric treatment center. Proven skills in planning, implementing and documenting recreation programming. Demonstrated ability to supervise programming based on principles of leisure activities in a correctional setting. Proven ability to supervise inmates and to get along with other people including staff and volunteers.

Additional Considerations

Working experience working in a correctional/mental health setting. Demonstrated experience in recreation, physical education or leisure services area.
