Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is Hiring a Business Services Representative (Employment Facilitator, OVR) Near Reading, PA

THE POSITION

The Department of Labor & Industry is seeking an enthusiastic Business Services Representative (BSR) to increase employment opportunities and retention of Office of Vocational Rehabilitation (OVR) customers by promoting OVR services to businesses, stakeholders, and potential customers. As a forward-facing role, the BSR serves as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for local employer partners, while helping the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VRC) connect OVR customers to available jobs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Business Services Representative, you will function as a liaison between the employer, providers, and district office staff in support of established district office programs and customer placement opportunities. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential to maintain employer relationships established by VRCs and other VR staff (including managers and central office personnel) through regular contact via phone, email, virtual, and in-person meetings.

You may engage in outreach to prospective and existing OVR service providers to promote service options available to OVR customers, in addition to preparing and updating informational materials used for outreach activities. This professional researches employment trends and barriers and collaborates across all bureaus in shared territories to ensure cross-bureau representation and inclusion in events, initiatives, and sharing of pre-screened candidates with employers.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • This position will cover both Berks and Schuylkill counties.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Reading.
  • Salary:Most employees will start at the beginning level of the advertised salary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree that includes 24 credits in the behavioral sciences; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 24 credits in the behavioral sciences.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
