The Department for Behavioral Health, Developmental and Intellectual Disorders is the State Mental Health Authority for mental health and substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services, and contracts with 14 community mental health centers (CMHCs) to deliver behavioral health services across the state.
This position will be responsible for coordinating the statewide 988 Workforce Initiative focused on increasing capacity of crisis call centers to respond to 988 calls, texts and chats. Apply today and let's make a difference in the lives of others.
This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Work with the statewide network of Community Mental Health Centers to explore/design and install nontraditional workforce strategies;
• Update/enhance Kentucky's Workforce Package Recruitment Campaign;
• Revise and expand the 988 Workforce Best Practices Implementation Guide;
• Coordinate a convening of workforce expansion providers; and
• Develop materials for ongoing Crisis Director and other related meetings on the 988 Workforce Initiative.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate would have:

• Knowledge of workforce strategies available to implement;
• Ability to draft and post material on relevant sites for recruitment opportunities;
• Writing and editing skills; and
• Organizational Skills for developing logistical and programmatic meetings.
