Commonpoint Queens is Hiring a Development Coordinator (FT) Near Queens, NY

The Development Coordinator will be responsible for individual giving, alumni relations, and event planning. This role will serve as the springboard for a successful career in non-profit fundraising and relationship management for the right candidate. As a part of the Commonpoint Queens team, the Development Coordinator will display caring, sensitivity, and flexibility in working with people of every race and ethnicity, from infancy to old age, from religiously observant to secular, and from every corner of the political spectrum. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE JOB:
  • Implement and manage a comprehensive moves management system to successfully identify, engage, solicit, and steward individual donors using constituent segmentation strategies, draft and distribute donor communications including but not limited to renewals, solicitation, acknowledgment letters, in-depth prospect tracking, regular meetings, and reporting.
  • Identify and manage internal member/program participant lists and actively engage them in philanthropic giving.
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward alumni through developing, coordinating, and evaluating programs and projects to promote alumni relations programs. Help to identify potential new alumni leadership.
  • Coordinate and produce reports, proposals, and analyses for management, including monthly budget to actual reviews of areas of programmatic responsibility, post-event reports and recommendations, and individual metrics.
  • Collaborate with other departments to share information and engage current and former program participants.
  • Plan, coordinate, and attend events, meetings, or other activities intended to cultivate donors, including maintaining guest lists, gathering and preparing registration materials, and other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with tracking Development Department expenses, including coding invoices for approval by the Vice President.
  • Other projects as assigned.
CORE COMPETENCIES:
  • Bachelor’s degree and one to three years of experience in development preferred.
  • Experience with donor or customer, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation preferred. 
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills and focus. 
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and follow through with minimal direction.
  • Attention to detail, project management skills, a high level of discretion in working with confidential materials, and being highly organized a must.
  • Flexibility in varied job assignments.
  • An understanding of and belief in the mission of Commonpoint Queens.
  • Ability to work creatively and effectively handle diverse tasks. 
  • Must be available to participate in events and activities on evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency with DonorPerfect, GiveCloud, Google Suite, MS Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Publisher), and Canva preferred.
  • Can keep a handle on a large number of simultaneous projects.
  • Team player, willing to participate in cross-division initiatives.
  • An upbeat, positive attitude, a good sense of humor, and unfazed by demands for a quick turnaround on all assignments, including the unexpected.
  • Proactive work ethic and common sense.
  • Willingness to pitch in when/where needed.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to travel among multiple locations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • May need to lift/carry up to 25 pounds of boxes.
Salary/Benefits: 
Commonpoint Queens offers compensation commensurate with skills and experience and includes a competitive benefits package. Salary for this position will be between $50,000-$62,500.
