Responsible for oversight of all activities taking place at the pool, tennis/pickleball courts, concession stand and lawn area.

What you’ll do:
The Brass Tacks

• Managing pool preparation and closing tasks, including clean-up, washing and painting as needed, setting up furniture and flowers.
• Daily water and chemical management, monitoring heat and ensuring cleanliness of the pool and proper working condition of the pool equipment and ordering chemicals as needed.
• Hiring, training, supervising and scheduling seasonal lifeguards.
• Coordinate with Parks & Recreation Department for public swimming lessons, and arranging for private lessons with UB lifeguards.
• Point person for pool rentals, lessons, tennis court reservations, ball machine, activities on the court or pool, including water aerobics, lap swim, tennis clinics, or tournaments on the lawn.
• Member relations, including communication of guidelines and restrictions, promoting recreation activities, maintaining smooth operation of check-in area, ensuring accurate account charges and a pleasant environment for all members throughout the area.
• Report issues for resolution or opportunities for improvements and enhancements of the recreation amenities to the Management Team for consideration.
• Maintain a safe environment throughout the recreation area.

The Nitty Gritty

• Current Red Cross Lifeguarding or YMCA Lifeguarding certification
• Current Red Cross First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Rating preferred
• Skill in basic swimming strokes, including but not limited to breast stroke, crawl stroke, side stroke and elementary back stroke
• Ability to communicate effectively with members, co-workers and management
