Guest Programs (Guest Experience)
Are you inspired by Attractions, Engaging with Guests, History, and Creating Memories? The Guest Programs Team Member at Smith Tower is who will create and maintain all guest programs and engagements while being the ambassador to all guests coming and leaving Smith Tower. Our guest programs team members are responsible for various types of engagement activities that will be assigned by the operations leaders. This position is expected to work an unconventional work week including nights, weekends, and holidays, and they will report directly to the Operations Supervisor.
What you’ll do:
THE BRASS TACKS
  • Responsible for leading guests through Smith Tower while speaking on the historical elements of the Attraction
  • Assists guest control and can ensure the safety of all guests during their visit
  • Assignments of specific guest programs that will be provided by operations leaders
  • Able to memorize (45) minute tour paths & notes to then repeat throughout shift
  • Speaks calmly, clearly, and with the ability to answer questions
  • Ensures entryway and exhibits are clean and up to date during the daily shift, updating the supervisor/manager if necessary, during or after tours.
  • Always maintain a warm and professional attitude to ensure exceptional guest experience
  • Acts as an onsite representative during rental filming, photo shoots, and other events outside of F&B
  • Acts as subject matter expert for the Smith Tower Visitor Experience, and becomes familiar with all the history tied to Smith Tower
  • Assigned with opening and closing duties as needed for the attraction entrance, exhibit, elevators, and other items about admissions and guest services
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all back areas, including shared capacities and crowd management
  • Be active in SMT’s ticketing platform as a super-user
  • Participate in using positive suggestive selling techniques
  • Encouraged to be creative and to offer recommendations on creating additional guest programs
  • Assists with partial or full (break coverage) shifts in all areas of Guest Services and Admissions
  • Other duties as assigned by management
THE NITTY GRITTY
  • A university degree preferred in a business-related discipline with relevant experience in museums, education, training, and experience (preferably in Attractions or Hospitality)
  • Strong client/customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to stand up and down for more than three (3) hours at a time
  • The ability to de-escalate, be organized, and handle busy operations
  • The ability to communicate independently, clearly, and effectively
  • Must maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift (25 ) Pounds
  • Basic math skills required
