ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Part-Time Biology Lecturer
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Summary: Semester or multiple semester assignment for a Biology Lecturer responsible for teaching 1-8 credit hours of college level laboratory & lecture courses. The person in this position could be expected to teach lower division laboratories and lecture sections. These include multi-section courses like: General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology I & II or introductory Microbiology. Courses are for both non-majors and majors at the undergraduate level. As part of the standard teaching load, the lecturer may be responsible for organizing some of the preparation of their laboratories. The standard teaching load is 1-8 credit hours per semester; some assigned courses may be taught on-line, hybrid, or via distance delivery modalities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
  • Teach 1-8 credits per semester
  • Utilize D2L for course syllabus and grade book
  • Some laboratory preparation
  • Prepare and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams
  • Other duties associated with instruction
    Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters in Biology (or related discipline)
  • Must have 18 credits of Graduate level Biology content coursework in related discipline
    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching 100-200 level college courses
  • Demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Experience or knowledgeable for teaching: General Biology and Human Anatomy & Physiology lectures and laboratories
