Colorado Mechanical Systems is Hiring a Service Projects Manager Near Centennial, CO

The Service Projects Manager is responsible in planning, executing, and finalizing projects for Colorado Mechanical System customers. This individual will maintain a sense of urgency, responsibility, and resourcefulness through the life of each project. They will source and procure high quality goods and materials, ensuring delivery and progress in a timely manner and within budgetary constraints. The Project Manager will also build and nurture relationships with coworkers, external customers, and suppliers through clear, consistent and timely communication.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with field operations to drive safety culture in all employees.
  • Uphold current policies and procedures across teams
  • Responsible for Cost of Goods and material purchasing.
  • Monitor, forecast, and identify operational capacities such as: workloads, manpower projections, etc… to work hand-in-hand with Service Director, New Install Operations Managers, recruiters, and staff to ensure business unit is moving forwards at all times
  • Assist with Sales needs associated with reviewing high risk projects
  • Assist with submittal reviews for design-build jobs for Sales as needed
  • Working with Sales team and putting together Project Estimates
  • Maintains, and reviews all RFIs, submittals, substitution requests, change proposals, project schedules, project budgets, purchase orders, and invoices for multiple large-scale projects.
  • Sense of urgency in assigning work to a team and driving critical internal and schedule milestones on projects
  • Guide and support project teams through the entire phase of every project
  • Conduct performance reviews of staff, and employee warnings, counseling, and terminations as required
  • Responsible for project analysis to determine scope, cost, and scheduling requirements.
  • Obtain permits from both General Contractors and local jurisdictions.
  • Arrange for returns of unused materials to vendors and ensures credit has been issued.
  • Obtain drawings from Owners group and distribute to necessary personnel.
  • Sets project goals for crews to meet the installation schedules
  • Maintain and improve owner, general contractor, engineer and vendor relations
  • Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top-level employees and officers
  • Plays a role in company business strategy development and execution
  • Help to train crew members upon opportunities for continued growth
  • Ensure QA/QC is completed on each project
  • Review all projects and ensure all critical milestones are tracking to completion by documented deadlines. This may entail additional work site visits and adjusting resources.
  • Participate in formal hand-off meetings with Project Engineer and sales team on newly awarded /contracted projects being added to Project Job Load
  • Analyze new project requirements and assign to field team
    • Conduct hand-off meetings to field team reviewing blueprints, specifications, materials, equipment, budgets, schedules and manpower
    • Review all projects and ensure all critical milestones are tracking to completion by documented deadlines. This may entail additional work site visits and adjusting resources.
    • Quality Control all assigned projects
    • Other tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Expert in field, extensive relevant experience.
  • University graduate or equivalent combination of skills and experience generally required
  • Full understanding of navigating complex issues on commercial plumbing & mechanical.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to manage and develop team members
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong communication skills (Oral and written)
  • Experience managing a team
  • 8 years of commercial mechanical management experience
  • Experience driving projects from preplanning stages through completion. Ability to teach those skills to others on team.
  • Strong computer knowledge (Strong in Excel and other MS Office software)
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
  • Team oriented.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Extensive experience with direct to owner projects
  • Strong customer service skills

Physical Requirements

  • Position is mixed between stationary and on feet. 75% of work is stationary, 25% would be on feet. Walking jobs doing QA/QC, climbing ladders when necessary.
  • Bending, twisting, stooping, crouching, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Salary Range & Benefits

  • $120,000.00-$135,000.00/annually depending on skill and experience.
  • Benefits Offered: Health, vision, dental, 401k w/ company match, company paid life insurance, company paid short-term disability.
