You are a forward looking and strategic research professional who is looking for a role where you can flex your creative and analytical skills to provide leading-edge, thought provoking research and market analysis in a growing industry. In this role you will be responsible for conducting research within the commercial real estate industry and prepare data and background narrative information for use in market reports, presentations, publications, and proposals to be used by Colliers brokerage staff. You have a passion for data and how to leverage it to deliver commercial insight, elevate the Colliers brand, and to help brokers and clients gain a competitive advantage!
What you bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
A minimum of 6 years’ experience in a research role – prior experience in the commercial real estate industry required
Knowledge of the New York City Office Market
Proficiency in Mapping/GIS Software and Statistical Analysis
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Bonus skills and experience
Commercial real estate experience
Experience with source code and SQL
What success looks like:
You will monitor market activity through creation and maintenance of various databases.
You will track competitive deal transactions and perform in-depth analysis.
You will prepare quarterly market reports including collection and preparation of statistical data, collaborating with a team of sales professionals to discuss quarterly trends, formulating text for the report and overseeing layout of final work product in conjunction with graphics designer.
You will prepare highly customized ad hoc deliverables including skyline reports, trend analyses and projection reports.
You will develop methodology and reporting tools for tracking internal lease transactions to ensure accuracy of client lists and aid the marketing team in the timely issuance of press releases for recent transactions.
You will collect data and maintain property database(s) accordingly. Database components include properties, owners, brokers/agents, tenants/prospects, and sales/lease comps.
You will create demographic maps and produce broker opinion of values.
You will be responsible for gathering building and lease comparables utilizing databases such as Apto, CompStak, CoStar and acquiring market intel from other commercial real estate peers.
