Job DescriptionThis position provides construction management for college projects. Responsibilities will include oversight of construction phases of projects; coordination with local utilities, third party and SPWD inspections, and CSN departments; verifying those projects meet current codes and CSN standards; ensuring that projects are completed on time and within the budget allowed; ensuring quality standards are met or exceeded and coordinating various vendors on multiple projects simultaneously. Projects will range from small remodels to ground-up construction.
The ideal candidate will have the following Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Experience in managing general contractors, consultants, technical staff, and subcontractors.
- Basic knowledge of construction, planning, budgeting, and scheduling of projects.
- Ability to make written and oral presentations.
- Basic knowledge of contracts, purchasing, and bidding projects.
- Thorough knowledge of time management and organizational skills.
- Computer knowledge must include software commonly used in the construction industry (MS Office, project scheduling programs, estimating software, etc.).
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements as they relate to construction projects.
- Ability to effectively manage emergency situations in a highly complex, challenging environment and diverse workforce.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in construction management; or equivalent work experience in the construction industry.
- 4 years' experience in the construction industry (Construction Manager, Project Manager, and/or Project Superintendent or combination).
Preferred Qualifications- 10 years' experience in the construction industry (Construction Manager, Project Manager, and/or Project Superintendent or combination).
- Construction Management experience with up to $60 million per year.
- 5 years' experience as a construction superintendent or project manager.
- Basic knowledge of prevailing wages and Davis Bacon.
Starting Salary RangeThe minimum starting salary is $58,561.00. The successful candidate may be placed above the minimum of the range based on education and experience.
