Java Technical Lead

Cognizant’s Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Technical Lead with experience in Java FSE, developing and building hard-working, scalable, enterprise applications. You will be part of a digital software team that works on high-demand applications. Our Leads have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable software solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain microservices architectures ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Utilize AWS cloud services to deploy and manage applications efficiently.
• Work with OpenShift for container orchestration to streamline development workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Ensure code quality and maintainability by conducting code reviews and adhering to best practices.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and apply them to improve existing systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our software development processes.
• Assist in the mentoring of junior engineers sharing knowledge and promoting a culture of learning.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
• Ensure security and data protection measures are integrated into software solutions.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle focusing on coding, debugging, and providing user support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• 9 years of Proven experience with Java, Spring Boot, AWS, Microservices, and OpenShift (1 years of experience) is mandatory.
• Familiarity with MySQL, JavaScript, SQL, and React JS is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to achieving project goals and meeting deadlines.
• A passion for technology and continuous learning.
• Good knowledge on Kubernetes, Docker, AWS is an added advantage.
• BFS payment experience – Zelle/RTP associates are preferred.

Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $110K – $145K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
