Interim Administrator / Coffman Nursing Home
SUMMARY
Responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and coordinating of the facility to ensure quality care. To be knowledgeable of, and implement, Federal, State and Local Laws and regulations applicable to the facility and its personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
All departments, employee and consultants, including overseeing the Medical Director and attending physicians, for both nursing care and assisted living. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must possess leadership and communication skills, knowledgeable of nursing home regulations and standards, budgeting, personnel and business administration, public and community relations. Develop good relations with other health-care providers. Ability to handle crisis situations and make good judgements and decisions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
As required by State and Federal Laws, but at least a B.S. Degree from an accredited college or university. At least two years preferred experience as Nursing Home Administrator, including preceptor.
COMPUTER SKILLS Enter, adjust and retrieve data using a microcomputer or personal computer and keyboard.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Hold a current, unencumbered nursing facility Administrator's License for the State of Maryland.

Administrative and Department offices, resident rooms and areas, the entire building and grounds. Additionally, the community, agency offices and other health care providers, educational institutions and travel to meetings and seminars. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

I understand that either I or Coffman Nursing Home/ Fahrney-Keedy Home may terminate the employment relationship, for any reason or for no reason, at any time with or without notice, regardless of the length of my employment or the granting of benefits of any kind, including but not limited to benefits which provide for vesting based on length of service.

A violation by the Employee of this paragraph shall be a material violation and will justify legal and/or termination of employment.
